Boston mayor released from hospital

BOSTON—Boston Mayor Thomas Menino has been released from his second stay in the hospital, four days after he was forced to return there following a negative reaction to the antibiotics he was taking for an infection.
The 67-year-old mayor left Brigham and Women's Hospital on Monday.
Menino was first hospitalized two days before Thanksgiving after developing a bacterial infection in his left elbow during a trip to Italy, where he was attending a conference. He also had a minor operation to drain fluid from his arm.
Menino was released Saturday, but his office says he had a negative reaction to oral antibiotics he was given. He was readmitted Wednesday night.
Menino is the longest-serving mayor in the city's history.
